Taking a dive

After a month I had moved from the neko district and came to the human settlement where I found a room open in town. After a week of moving things I decided to take a break and go down to the river to take a swim. I head out the door with my trunks on with a T-shirt and a backpack and head to the river.

I was taking a nap by the river when I notice a person walking up. "Well, looks like there is gonna be some activity today". I get up.

After a few minutes of walking I made it to the river "Alright, here we are" I say dropping my bag and sitting near the water feeling how cool it was. "Plenty deep to swim..." I say quietly to myself as I take a bottle of water out and take a long drink.

"River's nice ain't it?" I approach the guy in a calm manner.

I turn around after taking a few gulps of water "It is." I say to him then putting the water down "What brings you to this river on such a nice day?" I ask him curious of why he followed me.

"I just like chilling around here. Keeps me hidden from certain people when I'm trying to rest up".

I nod "Sure know the feeling of hiding..." I then get up and take my shirt off, "Lived in the Neko district for a whole month working a couple jobs while keeping hidden from the Sentinel's." I then jump into the river then letting myself float to the top on my back. "It was a pain I'll tell you that much..."

I chuckle in amusement. "That's a pain? I'm being hunted down by an archangel with powers that currently far surpass my own".

I keep floating slowly flowing with the river "Hmm... It's still a pain when both humans and angel authorities are looking for you..." I then look at him, "Then again this Archangel sounds like a major pain in the ass..."

"Yeah, but he's hunting me down because I was exiled after I was forced to their side after I died a long time ago". I sigh and look up "It's one of the reasons I don't go to town very often"

I swim back to where my bag was and take a drink from the bottle, "That's another reason why I moved to the Human settlement..." I say gulping down a bit of water, "The authorities here are local not on the network with the rest of the world...plus Sentinels keep away from here, from what I gathered anyway."

"I suppose so..." I began to wonder about these Sentinels he was talking about. "So, what are these Sentinels you're talking about?"

I pull myself out of the water "Sentinels are the elite guard for the angels." I say looking at him. "The reason why they would wan't a regular Joe-schmo of a guy like me is completely unknown to me" I say sarcastically looking off into the distance.

"So...just how tough are these Sentinels?" I was curious to find out how strong these elite guards I have strangely have never heard about were.

I put my hand to a whisper "Just between you and me, their pretty much like the Black Ops teams that the humans have. Your not supposed to know about them." I then open my bag and pull out a couple of turkey sandwiches. "Want one?" I ask holding it out to him.

When I see the sandwich my stomach growled, my face growing a shade of red with embarrassment. "Sure, haven't had something good to eat in a day or so".

He takes the sandwich "I guess you really don't go into town very often from how that stomach sounds" I say chuckling. I then dig into my sandwich, "Before we talk anymore I didn't catch your name..." I ask after swallowing the bite.

I take a bite, chew, and then swallow. "Name's Tom, what about you?"

I take another bite "Quindaro's the name..." I then look off into the water, "Soldier of fortune ready and willing if you can provide the green."

"Eh...it's fine, I'm currently just trying to get stronger myself". I take another bite of my sandwich.

I Shrug before finishing my sandwich "Just sayin' because I'm going to be in town for quite a bit."

"I'll think about it".

I look at him "You do that..." I then dive into the water again not resurfacing for a couple minutes

"Alright then". I finish my sandwich and lay down on the ground. "Sure is a nice day..."
