A Picnic For Two

Yurik grabbed the blanket out of the basket and laid it down so they could sit. He pat the spot next to him for Ember and smiled. He was excited. It'd been a while since he'd been on a picnic.

"You picked a good spot Yurik." I smile softly and set the basket down on the blanket and sit next to you. "I hope you like the picnic."

"I know I will," he smiled at Ember. "And thanks...I liked the view of the river it gave us."

I began to pull out some of the sandwiches he made and hand one to Yurik. "These sandwiches look delicious." I smile softly and lay me head on his lap.

Yurik grinned. "I'm glad," he unwrapped his and took a bite of it, smiling down at his lover.

I unwrapped my own sandwich as I smiled back at him and took a bite. "So I take it you don't have much to move to our home?"

"I don't have anything at all...I didn't keep much because I was on the move constantly..." Yurik bit his lip gently.

I pet his thigh softly. "I hope you decide to stay with me then." I smile softly as I look out to the river.

"Get back here you little twerp!" Said the angry man chasing me. Luckily I was faster than he was and kept a steady distance. I looked down at the loaf of bread I had stolen from his booth from the food district. "Dumb old man! You left your booth to chase after a piece of bread!" I shouted over my shoulder and laughed, only to trip on a leg and fall face first in a basket.

Yurik looked at the girl. "Oh hello there! Are you hungry? Is that why the man is chasing you? Because you wanted food?" He helped her up.

I sit up from Yurik's lap and look at Sena. "Why didn't you buy it? You had the a job at the human town?" I smile softly and see that our food has been crushed."

I get up and blush a deep red. "My mom used the money I got for herself..." I look away and at the man who's catching up slowly. "I'm sorry I ruined your-," I look at Ember, "oh, you're the nice guy from before." I laugh nervously and turn to the stranger in front of me. "H-hi," I say and look down at the blanket.

Yurik pulled a sandwich out of the basket. "Here. I made a few extra."

I smile softly and and shake Sena's hand. "Now I think you should return the bread to him." I gently take the bread away and hand it to the man, apologizing for the girl.

The man picks me up by the back of my neck and shakes me violently, "damn straight, I'm not letting her off that easy. How about a night with me, huh?" He grabs my chin and makes me face his dirty smile.
"Like hell that's gonna happen, old perv!" I jerk away from his hold and kick him in the crotch, quickly taking the bread back with an apologetic smile at Ember. After shaking Yurik's hand, I turn and run towards my home.

Yurik stared off after her. "She needs help...." He murmured softly.

"Do you want to help her?" I pull Yurik into a half hug as I watch the girl walk away.

He nodded. "She needs it..." He looked down.

"I'll let you take the lead on this." I smile softly and kiss her cheek.

Yurik folded up the blanket and tucked it back into the basket. He grabbed Embers hand and started after the girl.

I quickly followed Yurik as we made our way to Sena.

I quickly realized I was lost. "Shit," I cursed to myself and looked back on the guy still chasing. Making a quick decision, I began to climb up the tallest tree I could see. The old man caught up and threw rocks, "you little slut! You think you can hide from me?" His gruff voice shouted from below. His aim was better than I had thought and he nailed me right in the head, making me fall down helplessly with a harsh thud. "I'm so done for," I thought to myself.

Yurik ran up and kicked the guy in the balls. "Get out of here you fucking pervert!" Yurik stood in front of the girl, his grey eyes turning black as he glared.

I quickly caught up with him, holding the basket in one hand and half hug Yurik with the other. "Calm down love, I know what having your eyes turn black means." I look at Sena and put the basket down and go check on her.

I was surprised that they came for me, why did they? "Th-thanks for helping me," I rubbed my arm and looked away, "I'm sorry that I've cause you to stop your date."
"But I'm not sorry for stealing from that creep, he deserved it." I though to myself angrily. Looking down at my empty hands, I noticed that the bread was gone and looked frantically for it. When I looked up, the man was running away with it. Damn it all!
