Last Day on the Job.

It was bright outside with a cool breeze that kicked in every now and then. Birds chirped and people talked as they walked past. Only a few people had come to the small cafe I work at, but that was just fine with me. Only small tables for one or two people lined the clear windows along the bright blue walls. I stood at the brightly colored wood counter patiently for more costumers to stop buy. This was my last day. I'm going to quit so that I can have a job closer to my new home with Levious in the Neko District. It was strange coming back here from there. The scene change could be overwhelming sometimes.

Zuriel walked the streets, looking at everything in wonder. He hadn't been in this town before, and everything looked so weird. Soon he accidentally wandered into a small cafe, and he looked startled. Where was he now?

I looked at the new customer and greeted him with a, "hello." My thumbs twirled with each other from my shyness. "W-what can I do for you today?" I gave him a small smile.

Zuriel looked at her red hair with amazement. He wasn't used to seeing hair that color. He shook off his amazed face, and looked at her with shyness. "I-I don't know where I am..." He said quietly. His white hair was clean and shiny, his lavender eyes looking at her with curiosity and shyness.

I stared in amazement at his eyes and hair. "This is the Leisure Cafe in the human settlement. Are you not human? Your eyes don't look it." I quickly shut my mouth, thinking it was rude of me.

Zuriel shook his head, his hair moving to show his elf ears. "No, I'm not human. I'm a wood elf." He said, then looked around. "How did I get here?" He asked himself.

I chuckled, "I don't know. But I think if you head west you would be on the right track... But then again, I don't know where you live. Do you want to have some food or drinks to carry with you?" I pointed up at the menu above the counter.

Zuriel just looked at her, as if studying her. "I don't live anywhere. I don't have any money to buy food either." He said, eyes wide. The twelve year old elf looked around at the cafe.

I quirked an eyebrow up. Nowhere to live? No money either. "Maybe you could have a job here to earn money. We sometimes get to take home free leftovers, too. If you talk to the boss, maybe he'll give you the upstairs room for labor." I smiled at him reassuringly.

Zuriel shook his head. "I travel. I'm only twelve too, how can I get a job?" He asked, looking at her. He put his hands behind his back.

OOC: I'm just waiting for her to ask about his parents >.>

"Twelve huh? Then it could be tricky to get a job here. I could have recomended you for the job, but since you travel... And where are your parents?" I put my brows together.

Zuriel looked sad all of a sudden. "Mommy and daddy... They died when I was 7. They got too cold." He said sadly, looking at the ground.

My lips formed a thin line. "I'm sorry to hear that. How are you living on your own?" I propped my head up on my hand with my elbow on the counter.

Zuriel looked back up at her. "I travel and hunt for food. I don't have anyone to take care of me, so I take care of myself." He said, looking depressed.

"Well since you travel for food, how about you work here for it?" I offered him my hand and opened the counter door.

Zuriel blinked twice, then walked behind the counter. "O-ok. What do I do?" He asked, looking up at her. He probably only reached her rib cage.

"Leave it all to me." I grabbed his hand and lead him to the double doors behind the counter. We met with the owner of the cafe. "This little dude can replace me."
The boss slapped his hand on his desk, "brilliant! You can work tomorrow." The boss is as impulsive as always.
"Sir, he also needs a place to stay." He waved his hand in the air, indicating it was fine. I turned to the boy and smiled.

Zuriel looked a little overwhelmed, and confused. He looked at the girl with wide eyes. "Y-You're not using me, are you?" He asked, looking a little scared. "People have tried that before. It's not very nice." He said, looking innocent.

"Use you? Well, jobs tend to do that. But it's not it a bad way." I led his upstairs to one of the bedrooms.

Zuriel followed her. "I don't mean the job. I mean you." He said in his child voice. "I'm scared." He added.

"Why on earth would I use you?" I looked hurt.

Zuriel still looked scared. "You said I'm replacing you. That means you needed someone to take your job. I'm not even looking for a job." He said, blinking his wide lavender eyes at her.

"I'm quitting today. I need a job closer to home, this is too far away for what I need to do." I looked down, "I'm sorry that you think I'm using you."

Zuriel blinked at her a few times. "Ok. I trust you. But, I don't really want a job right now. I live in the woods. Lilly and Reggie might miss me." He said, thinking about the two squirrels he had been talking to before he came into town.

I sat on a stair, "I wish I could help you in some way..." I trailed off and looked to the side.
